Conte eyes Charles De Ketelaere

Tottenham have been linked with a January deal for attacking midfielder Charles De Ketelaere as Antonio Conte attempts to mould his squad for the future.

According to Calciomercato, Conte is looking to sign the teenager during the winter transfer window to avoid competition in the market, with AC Milan also rumoured to be interested.

Gareth Southgate is likely to sign a contract extension with England until 2024

DE VRIJ: ‘CONTE DID NOT CONTACT ME’

De Vrij has been highlighted as a possible target for Conte, who recently joined Tottenham Hotspur, and rumours emerged in Italy regarding contact between the defender and his former coach.

But the 29-year-old, who joined Inter in July 2018 on a free transfer from Lazio, revealed he doesn’t know anything about a possible move to England.

“I deny these rumours,” De Vrij told Ziggo Sport. “I don’t know anything about anything. The connection is easily because the coach I worked with at Inter is now there [at Tottenham].

“Conte did not contact me about this. I’m focused on the national team, now this is my priority, then I’ll think about Inter, but certainly not Tottenham.”

Raheem Sterling wants to leave Manchester city
