Dani Alves has become the lowest paid player at Barcelona

After his return to Barcelona, Brazilian veteran Dani Alves became the club’s lowest paid player. The veteran returned to the club five years after leaving.

After reaching a contract in principle on Friday, Alves had to wait until today to complete his medical, which means that the first training session will begin this evening at 6pm.

In his first stint with Barcelona, Alves won everything there is to win at Camp Nou. Now he works under his old teammate Xavi Hernandez, and he does so cheaply.

Alves has reportedly become the team’s lowest-paid player, according to Sport.

Barca are unable to make substantial new additions due to their current financial condition, and despite their close connection with Alves, they are unable to commit to paying a 38-year-old a large wage.

However, the defender is unconcerned about this, and he will have the opportunity to enhance his wage.

According to the source, there are incentives dependent on certain terms, such as winning titles, though this may be tough given Barcelona’s struggles this season.

For Alves, returning to the club where he won so much is a storybook ending to his career, thus money was never going to be a consideration in this contract.
