Klopp to consider signing Raheem Sterling

Despite ongoing uncertainty surrounding the future of Raheem Sterling at Manchester City, new reports suggest that Liverpool may make a bid for the 21-year-old.

Even though he scored three goals and assisted one during England’s run to the European Championships final, the 26-year-old has lost favour at the Etihad Stadium.

Despite not yet signing a new contract with Manchester City, Sterling has been heavily linked with a move to Barcelona following the news that contract negotiations between him and the club have been stalled for the moment.

Sterling has reportedly stated that if he doesn’t see increased playing time in the coming months, he intends to seek a loan transfer. However, the Premier League champions will ‘resist’ any approach for Sterling during the January transfer window.

Sterling has been linked with moves away from Manchester as of late, according to journalist Ekrem Konur.

In any case, it should be noted that playing time at Anfield wouldn’t come as easy as at City, as Jurgen Klopp’s team boasts attacking players such as Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino.

In the past week, it emerged that Manchester City could consider selling the London-born forward for a sum of £45-50 million.

Further, it has been reported that Sterling is preparing to switch from Greater Manchester to Catalonia despite City’s desire to keep hold of him and extend his contract beyond 2023.

Sterling’s representatives are also keeping a ‘low profile’ amid continuous rumours about the attacker’s future at Manchester City, where he has only made six appearances in all competitions since August.

Despite the fact that Sterling has declared that if his situation at City does not improve, insiders close to the club believe it is ‘very improbable’ that the Sky Blues will sell the winger in January.

The contract negotiations between Sterling and City have stalled completely, but Sterling has been reported to be remaining calm and focusing on the rest of the season.
