1. Ajax

 

The club with the most successful soccer records or Honours in the Netherlands is Ajax.

Ajax has won the national title 35 times and won various international prizes; Ajax won the Champions League 4 times and the Europa Cup ll once.

2. PSV

 

The Philips sport Vereniging won 24 league titles, nine Dutch cups, and 11 Dutch super cups.

Internationally, the club from Eindhoven won once the European cup and one time the UEFA cup in 2009/10 known as the UEFA Europa League).

3. Feyenoord

 

Feyenoord is the third most successful club in the Dutch football ranking, winning 15 Eredivisie titles, 13 KNVB Cups, and 4 Johan Cruyff Shields.

Internationally, it has won one European Cup, two UEFA Cups, and one Intercontinental Cup.

4. Alkmaar Zaanstreek

 

Alkmaar Zaanstreek is a Dutch professional football club from Alkmaar and the Zaanstreek where its name was derived.

The club plays in the Eredivisie which is the highest professional football league in the Netherlands, and hosts home matches at the AFAS Stadium.

As of the 2021 record, AZ has won the Eredivisie twice, in 1980 and 2000.

FC Utrecht is the fifth most successful club in the Netherlands by ranking, the team came into being in 1970 when three clubs in the city joined with VV Dos, USV Elinkwijk, and Velox coming together to form FC Utrecht.

Since its foundation, the club has won three Dutch Cups in 1985, 2003 and 2004, and is the only side outside the big three (Ajax, Feyenoord, and PSV) to have ever won the Dutch Super Cup.

Apart from Ajax, Feyenoord, and PSV, FC Utrecht is the only club never to have been relegated from the top flight.

Football Club Twente is also a Dutch professional football team located in the city of Enschede.

It was established in 1965 by the merger of 1926 Dutch champions, Sportclub Enschede and Enschedese Boys who were the holders of the 2011 KNVB Cup and Johan Cruyff Shield trophies, and were Eredivisie champions in the 2009/10 season; the team has also finished as Eredivisie runner-up twice, was runner-up in the 197475 UEFA Cup, and has won the KNVB Cup three times.

Twente’s home ground since 1998 is De Grolsch Veste. Since 2019, the club has played in the Eredivisie, the top division of Dutch football.

8. FC Groningen

 

Football Club Groningen is the eighth most successful club in the Netherlands based in Groningen, province of Groningen.

The club was founded on 16 June currently (2021) compete in the Eredivisie, the highest league of Dutch football.

Groningen played their inaugural season in the Eredivisie, they were relegated to the Eerste Divisie in 1973/74 due to financial difficulties.

Notwithstanding, the club was promoted back to the Eredivisie as champions in 1979/80 and they maintained the top flight for almost 20 seasons before they dropped to the second tier in 1997/98.

The team won promotion to the Eredivisie in 1999/2000, where they have remained since.

Groningen has won the KNVB Cup once in 2014/15and was champions of the Eerste Divisie in 1979/80.

They were KNVB Cup finalists in 1988/89 and were runners-up in the 2015 Johan Cruyff Shield.

Groningen achieved their highest-ever league position in 1990/91 when they finished third in the Eredivisie.

The side’s first participation in a European competition came in the 1983/84 UEFA Cup; Groningen defeated Atlético Madrid on aggregate in the first round but was eliminated by Inter Milan in the following round.

Notable players who have played for the club include Virgil van Dijk in Liverpool, Ronald Koeman, Arjen Robben in Bayern Munich, and Luis Suárez currently at athletico Madrid.

9. Sc Heerenveen

 

This is a Dutch football club from Heerenveen currently playing in the Eredivisie, the top level of football in the Netherlands.

They were Runners-up in the Netherlands Football League Championship / Eredivisie in 1946-1947, 1947-1948, 1999/2000.

They won the KNVB Cup once, and Play-off Winners of Eerste Divisie in 1989/90, 1992/93

10. Heracles Almelo

 

Ranked as the tenth most successful club in the Netherlands, Heracles football club is located in Almelo, founded in 1903.

The club has won the Dutch national title twice, in 1927 and 1941.

Heracles won the Eerste Divisie title during the 2004/05 season, gaining promotion to the Eredivisie for the first time in 28 years.

Heracles has fought so hard to maintain the top division ever since. And fortunately reached the KNVB Cup final for the first time in club history in 2012, losing to PSV in the final though.
